Jackie was a young man, Big dreams lying in bed. No one ever knew them, They were caught up in his head. Jackie met a sweet girl, She left and broke his heart. Now Jackie spends all his time, Whiskey bottle in a bar. Chorus Some folks live, while others wish they could. Held up by consequence, not doing what they should. Some folks live while others wish they could. Held up by consequence, not doing what they should, while other folks live. Jackie said I’ll leave this place, Someday I’ll make it big. Someday has come and gone, Guess big he’ll never be. Jackie died in a hotel room, Some people said he lied. I know his body gave out, But his heart it never died.

Lyrics: Vs 1 Grassroots Burning, as I slide down this hill. Don't know which parts to hold onto, Never have I felt so far from what is real. Sails have fallen, south wind is gone Chorus: The truth keeps flying, the lies keep lying, the days keep floating on the breeze, like a winsome hope in thee. Vs 2 My middle ground is which ever side I feel, Seems unfair but that's the way it is. This mid-life exposure, I don't care for. Seems like life has lost it's appeal. Vs 3 The hurt I've caused others, is the only hurt I bear. They never fail to remind me, Hey that's you over there. Vs 4 I don't know which way that I should go, no east no west, my compass is still. Sun seems brighter over the top of that hill. The hill is not over, yet. Vs 5 Imperfect human, living in imperfect ways. I live the best I can for everyone, but I still fail everyday. Vs 6 What about me? What about my heart, my needs? How about a kind word of affirmation, thank you and please.

Chorus You said you loved me, But you’re gone. Why can I not see, what went wrong? How can I dry these tears, all alone? How will I face these years, on my own? Bridge 1 You said I was the only one, But you settled for less than best. And though you held me up, I was just like the rest. I’ve got the head back now, See to things I must do. Never again will I confuse, Love with you. Chorus Bridge 2 There was no other way, To see things through. What can be left to say, I’ve got nothing left to lose. Despite all the doubt and pain, Love with you. You said now… Chorus

What We Are 05:33
It’s a sad state when you don’t know What country you’re in. It’s a tiny room when you Can’t find the door. It’s a long race when you can’t Find the starting line. It’s a bad day that you’ve been thru before. Interlude What do think it is I’m talking about? What do you think is going thru my mind? Is it us (the fire) that we can’t seem to live without? Is it something in our hearts that we can’t find? Bridge This is what it feels like when I’m with you. This is what it feels like when you’re with me. This is what it feels like. This is what it feels like. This is how it feels. It’s a long road without any signs. It’s a locked door and you can’t find the key. It’s a countdown to the end, without any time. It’s a mirror with no reflection of me.

Wildflowers 04:13
There’s a place I know Not far from here. It’s a place we use to go. It’s a place in my heart, I hold so dear, Where the precious wildflowers grow. It’s locked away in my memories, Overshadowed by the day I made you cry. With one more chance, Just take my hand, Take another walk with me. We’ll go back there, Back where it all began, We never know where it could lead. Together we’ll make some new memories, Stronger than the day I made you cry. Interlude And we can live again. Stir some hope within, We can learn to love you’ll see. It’s a risk to take, oh but worth the wait, Let’s be together what will be. And live again… There’s that place we know, Right over there. It’s that place we use to go. It’s that place in our hearts, We still hold so dear, Where the seeds of our wildflowers grow. Together we made all those memories, Those that tell the story of our life. There’s a place I know, Not far from here. Will you take another walk with me? To Karen, who loves wild flowers. If I cannot give you wildflowers every day, you will always have this song.

Sometimes I just wanna be alone. Other Times I need a hand. Sometimes I don’t know which way to go, Or what it means to be a man. Chorus Oh it troubles me, Oh Lord it troubles me. Will (Can, Won’t) you help me make a stand. Oh it troubles me, yes Lord it troubles me. Please help me understand. There are times I fear coming to you. Fear of what you’re going to say. So I put on the face, and make it through, A single act in a lonely play. Chorus Over the horizon I cannot see, I’m standing in shifting sand. If I open my heart will you laugh at me, Or stop the bleeding with gentle hands. Chorus

A Pretty Sad 04:21
Here we are once again. Enemy, lover, foe or friend. We have trundled down that line The struggle the victor most the times Interlude We are alone as one. so Farewell my love. (We were alone as one. Farewell my love.) We don’t feel any more Right or wrong we’re not sure We suffered thru love all the way Despite what the other had to say. Interlude Can’t you see the pain I’m in? Hold me close, let me go again I pray a day where hope was new Lost all hope in all things blue. Interlude The soils deep, the seeds been sown. Reap the Weeping Willow. It’s time I fell way down home Where lonely can be alone. Interlude

Of Yesterday 03:19
Yesterday is a weeping child. Look over your shoulder, it goes on for miles and miles. You can live forgiven, or nurse the pain. Let the tears soak in like desert rain. Chorus You’ve got to say… The day is over, and I’ve beaten the dawn. It’s time to let go, time to move along. The moon is darkened with the suns new rays. (Let come what may) It’s time to let go of yesterday. Troubles are present and sometimes they’re old. Sometimes sorrows will leave you cold. When I call you, will you dry your tears? Or will you carry on for years and years.

Empty Road 05:54
I was born on the day the fields covered with snow. Those cold grey days follow me with much sorrow. Along the way, I’ve seen some things make you wanna cry. One of these days, I pray that pain, will take wing n fly. Chorus It’s an empty road. The only one I’ve known, and it’s all mine. It’s an empty road. The only one I’ve known, and it’s alright. I’ve been told of a love that’s greater than gold. Blood shed for me, I fail to see as my only love. Each day I try, with hope of dispelling the lie. Heart yearns for life, but it seems to be destined to die. Interlude Why can’t I see, that the root of this pain is me? Grace not shown, on the enemy of my soul. Every step I roam, leads me further away from home A deep Breath I’ll take at the end of my Empty Road.
